ADA 3D OOD Mesh2Surface

Mesh2Surface is a plugin for Rhino and SOLIODWORKS providing many tools to make reverse engineering. With a number of simple but efficient features to optimise the process of converting scanned data to a perfect CAD model. 3D reverse engineering is a process of converting a triangular mesh to a surface model. Triangular meshes are representation of the reality but in a discrete way. This type of presentation is not suitable for editing and combining with already created CAD model. The easiest analogy can be made if you imagine that you have a picture taken with a normal camera, but you want to get the contours of the image as curves. This process is known and is called vectorisation. The same approach has to be applied to the triangular meshes. Mesh2Surface is designed to work with noisy meshes. These meshes are imperfect and come from non-contact scanning. The images show two type of meshes. First one is generated from CAD model, which is not suitable and the second one is from a real non-contact scanning.
